What Are Skin Tags?
Firstly, we should discuss what Skin Tags actually are. Skin tags are technically known as acrochordon, and are small, soft growths that hang off the skin. They are:
They’re made up of collagen and blood vessels surrounded by skin, and while they’re harmless, many people choose to have them removed for comfort or cosmetic reasons.
Skin Tags are formed from loose collagen fibres and blood vessels trapped inside thicker skin, typically where skin rubs against skin or clothing (like the neck, around the bra line, armpits, eyes and groin). They are harmless and tend to appear more frequently as we age.
Who Is Likely to Get Skin Tags?

Treatment Options at Skin Revision
We offer two advanced, non-surgical solutions for skin tag removal:
1. CryoPen (for most areas)
CryoPen is a highly precise cryotherapy tool that freezes the tag using nitrous oxide. The intense pressurised cold delivery causes the tissue to die, and the tag falls off naturally within 7–10 days.
Best for:
CryoPen can also treat multiple tags in one session if they are small. For larger skin tags, we usually treat up to 5–7 per session, to allow your body to recover without being overwhelmed.
2. Thermavein (for tags very close to the eyes)
Thermavein uses thermocoagulation—a quick, targeted heat pulse that seals the blood vessel feeding the skin tag, causing it to shrink and fall off.
This is ideal for:
3. Plaxel Plasma
Plaxel Plasma is commonly used at Skin Revision to remove Skin Tags. Plaxel Plasma is heat cauterisation. The device has pinpoint precision and so can be directly pointed at the Skin Tag without any damage to the surrounding skin or tissue. The device emits jets of pressurised ionised gases which convert to plasma when combined with the oxygen in the air. The Skin Tag dissolves when targeted by the Plasma and, as such, will disappear. Another key point is that the skin that will be left will be new and fresh, and, importantly, there will be no scarring, as can be seen on the Plaxel Plasma page. Although tempting to ignore the area, it is advisable to protect the treated area from damage and UVA/UVB for a time frame.
Do I need a consultation prior to my skin tag removal?
Yes, contact would need to be made with us via email, WhatsApp or telephone. At that time we can discuss with you everything about the skin tag, such as its size, thickness, age and whereabouts on the skin. We would often ask for a photo to be sent to us via WhatsApp, although this is not always necessary.
What Happens During Treatment for Skin Tag Removal in Beaconsfield?
For smaller tags, more can be removed in one session. For larger, firmer tags, or those with thicker bases, fewer may be treated to minimise skin trauma. It is common for the body to begin to reject the treatments if too many tags are treated over a 10-minute period. The free consultation prior to your appointment will determine, a) the ideal treatment process to be used and b) how many skin tags can be treated during the "sitting" for the most favourable results.

Yes—Thermavein is gentle and precise enough for the delicate eye area.
Skin Revision can never guarantee that a very small mark or hypopigmentation maybe left following the treatment for skin tags, especially on darker or Asian skin tones. However, it is highly unlikely that this will happen, if the correct aftercare is followed.
