Will I look "frozen" or expressionless?
At Skin Revision, Nurse Abbie says. "As a cosmetic injector, my absolute priority is to achieve natural-looking results. The 'frozen' look often comes from either too much product or improper placement. My approach at Skin Revision is always to assess your unique facial anatomy and expressions.
I use precise, conservative dosing to soften your lines while allowing for natural movement and expression. You'll still be able to frown, smile, and laugh—just without those deep, ingrained wrinkles telling a story of past expressions."
Review of Nurse Abbie for Botox and Fillers
Abbie is always so attentive and makes sure I understand the procedure to manage my expectations. We have done lip fillers, cheeks, and chin. Over time, we have built up a beautiful balance in my face. Paired with all over facial Botox, we have kept my lower face slim by injecting masseters, which have always bothered me. They now make a huge difference. We have also lessened the need for lip fillers too often by using Botox in the lips. This creates nicer, plumper, but natural lips. I am extremely happy with nurse Abbie and have already referred her to friends.

Frequently Asked Questions
“The effects of botulinum toxin are temporary, explains Nurse Abbie”. Generally, you can expect the results to last anywhere from 3 to 4 months. Over time, the nerve signals to the muscles gradually return, and the muscle activity comes back to normal. To maintain your smooth results, follow-up treatments are needed, usually every 3-4 months. With consistent or regular treatments, results often last longer over time.
One of the advantages of anti-wrinkle treatment is the minimal downtime. You can usually return to your normal activities immediately after your appointment. You might notice some tiny red bumps at the injection sites, similar to a mosquito bite, but these typically disappear within 15–30 minutes. Occasionally, a small bruise might occur, but it’s usually easily concealed with makeup.
Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (like saunas or hot baths), and lying down for a few hours immediately after treatment. This ensures the botox difuses properly around the necessary areas.
Patience is key.
You won’t see immediate results. The muscle relaxants need time to work their magic. You’ll typically start to notice a softening of your lines within 3 to 5 days after your treatment.
The full, desired effect usually develops around 10 to 14 days post-injection. This is why I often schedule a follow-up review about two weeks after your treatment, just to ensure everything is perfect.”
Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is a muscle relaxant. It’s used to treat dynamic wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement (like frown lines). It prevents the wrinkle from forming or deepening.
Dermal Fillers: These fill or add volume. They are used to treat static wrinkles (lines visible even when your face is at rest), restore lost volume (like in cheeks or lips), and enhance facial contours.
Often, at Skin Revision in Beaconsfield, I use both injectables in combination to provide a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation, as they address different aspects of ageing gracefully.”
“When performed by a highly trained and experienced cosmetic injector like myself, Botulinum Toxin treatments are very safe,” assures Nurse Abbie. “The most common side effects are temporary and mild, including redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. More rare but possible side effects will be discussed in detail during your comprehensive consultation. My priority is always your safety and comfort.”
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, Vitamin E, and fish oil for about a week before your appointment (unless prescribed by your doctor—always consult them first!). This helps minimise bruising. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior.
Arriving with a clean face and free of makeup if possible.
Be open and honest during your consultation about your medical history and any medications you’re taking, as this is crucial for your safety and treatment plan.”
Generally, most healthy adults who are concerned about dynamic wrinkles—those lines that form when you make facial expressions—are good candidates. This includes lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines), and crow’s feet around the eyes.
However, there are certain situations where botulinum toxin (Botox) isn’t recommended. For example, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain neurological conditions, or have a known allergy to any of the ingredients, the treatment wouldn’t be suitable. During your consultation, our cosmetic injector will take a detailed medical history from you to ensure your safety and that this anti-wrinkle treatment is the right choice for you. Your well-being is prioritised.
We aim to be transparent about our pricing at Skin Revision,” says Nurse Abbie. “The cost of your muscle-relaxing injections will depend on a few factors:
The number of areas being treated: Typically, prices are quoted per area (e.g., forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet). If you’re treating multiple areas, there might be a package price.
The amount of product required: Some individuals may need slightly more product than others to achieve their desired results, depending on muscle strength and the depth of lines.
During your comprehensive consultation, I’ll provide you with a precise quote tailored to your specific needs and treatment plan. We believe in providing value for expert, safe, and effective injectables that deliver beautiful, natural results. You’ll have all the information you need before making any decisions.”
There are no negative long-term consequences if you decide to stop. If you choose to discontinue your botox treatments, the effects will simply wear off gradually over time, typically within 3-4 months. Your muscles will slowly regain their full movement, and your fine lines and wrinkles will gradually return to their pre-treatment appearance.
The great news is that stopping treatment won’t make your wrinkles worse than they were originally. In fact, by having had the treatment, you’ve likely given your skin ‘a’rest’ from constant creasing, which might mean your lines return less severely than if you had never had the treatment at all. There’s ‘no’rebound effect’—your’ face will simply return to its natural state.
