Vitamin B-12 Injectables
Vitamin B-12 plays a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and your body’s overall nervous system. It also aids in the formation of necessary red blood cells. Having a B-12 deficiency is a serious condition that can cause many health problems if left untreated.
Vitamin B-12 injections are available right now at Skin Revision. Symptoms of B12 deficiency may include weakness, difficulty concentrating, mood swings, problems with coordination, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, brittle nails, pale skin, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, and poor vision. Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA.

How does a Vitamin B-12 injection help any deficiency?
Vitamin B12 rapidly absorbs from food. Hydrochloric acid in the stomach separates vitamin B-12 from the protein to which vitamin B-12 is attached in the food. Vitamin B-12 then combines with a protein made by the stomach called the intrinsic factor and is absorbed by the whole body. Some people are not able to absorb B12, which is why a B12 injection can be so important.
How many treatments of Vitamin B-12 will be needed?
If you are particularly deficient in vitamin B12, then we would advise one treatment per week for the first month. It is then a case of seeing how much of an improvement you feel you have made. It may then be ideal to have a further injection of B12 once a month in order to maintain energy and alleviate any lethargy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Having B12 via an injection into the arm means that the B12 is absorbed quickly into the bloodstream. This will mean that any deficiencies in your body will be eliminated quickly.
The injection is almost painless. The vitamin B-12 is injected into the arm, but only just a few ml. It only goes just below the surface. You recover immediately.
One treatment is not enough, especially if you know you are lacking in B-12. We would recommend 4 injections in the first month (one per week). We would then recommend regular visits if you know you are not taking in the necessary B-12 in your lifestyle. You should begin to notice the difference within the first month. Your energy should come back, and many of the symptoms you were experiencing will likely gradually return with maintenance.
If you are feeling low, depressed, lacking energy, or any of the other symptoms mentioned, you should always seek a doctor’s advice. If they diagnose that you are lacking in B-12, they will often refer you to a clinic like the Skin Revision Clinic to have a course of B-12 injections.
Vitamin B12 injections are very suitable for those with specific skin concerns, including those with signs of ageing, acne, dullness, or pigmentation irregularities of the skin.
There are possible side effects such as redness, swelling, or discomfort at the injection site. Vitamin B-12 should only be given by an experienced and qualified professional, with consent forms, in order to mitigate risks.
The advantage of direct implementation of vitamin B-12 means that there is a far quicker absorption of the vitamin. It also has a higher bioavailability and potentially more immediate skin benefits compared to oral supplementation.
It is not 100% certain, but it has been known for vitamin B-12 injections to help specific skin concerns such as dryness, eczema, or dermatitis.
Your expectations should be managed. Your skincare administrator or skin experts at Skin Revision, for example, will be able to help you manage those expectations. They will give you typical timelines of others that have had vitamin B-12. They will tell you when the health and skin of previous clients have improved by having the injections regularly.
