What are Skin Tags and how can they be treated?

Skin tags are small, benign growths that appear on the skin. They are typically soft and flesh-coloured and can appear anywhere on the body of any person of any skin colour or skin tone. The most common areas to find skin tags are the neck, chest, back, armpits, and under the breasts. The tags can also be found on more delicate areas of the body, such as the genetalia.

Skin tags tend to occur more readily as one ages and especially those who may be overweight or have diabetes.

They do however no pose any serious health risk but they can be unsightly to some and bothersome to others.

Can GP’s or doctor’s treat Skin Tags in England, the UK or anywhere else?

GPs do not recognise the removal of skin tags on the face or body, as a health issue. GP’s now believe that if one wishes skin tags to be removed, then it is regarded as a cosmetic procedure and as such, should be performed outside any doctor’s clinic. The same may apply in other home nations like Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales. It may also apply in the USA.

Who should I see if I want the Skin Tags removed safely?

How are Skin Tags safely removed?
