VeinAway

VeinAway – Beaconsfield

VeinAway is now recognised as the leader in the removal of facial Thread Veins / Spider Veins, small Tags, Cherry Anigoma, Milia treatments due to its precision, higher energy and its outstanding ability to cause the supply vessels of the lesions to die off immediately.

The process to remove clusters of facial thread veins, tags and milia is known as thermocoagulation. Sharp, high-frequency bursts of energy are passed into the lesion or red vein vessel, causing the blood supply within that lesion or thread vein, to immediately stop. Your body will naturally remove the internal debris. that has died off, as part of the healing process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is VeinAway safe?

VeinAway uses intense short bursts of heat energy which seal the veins by killing off the blood supply to the vein, mole, skin tag, milia or blood spot. It does not use electro-coagulation or IPL and therefore it does not carry the same risk of scarring and burns. There are no incisions, chemicals, or injections. The low current given means that the VeinAway treatment is very safe for our patients.

How long does a treatment take?

It is likely that a consultation is not required, as a free assessment can be made over the phone and with photos. Treatment time can range from just 10 seconds to 15 minutes. This will depend on the complexity of the treatment and the amount of skin type issues. Time to fill out the necessary consultation and consent forms will be built into your overall appointment time.

How many VeinAway treatments will I need?

Normally only one treatment is required for skin treatments such as Milia (small white bumps under eyes and cheeks), red blood spots and small skin tags. Thread Veins can sometimes cover a larger area and as such, as many as three treatments may be necessary. However, it is not uncommon for just one treatment to be needed for thread veins/spider veins around the nose, cheeks, chin and eyelids.
Moles and Skin Tags – it is likely that between 2 and 3 treatments would be necessary for the larger or older lesions.

What skin issues can a VeinAway procedure treat?

Treatment for facial thread veins; small red veins on the nose; small red veins on the cheeks, small veins on the chin, small red veins on the eyelids, broken capillaries.
Treatment for spider veins on the nose, chin, cheeks and eyelids

Is it suitable for all skin types and skin colour?

VeinAway can be used for all skin colours, and skin tones. VeinAway can be used on darker and light skin tones and include sensitive skin. Your assessment over the phone and in-clinic will give you a full understanding of the expected results for your skin type and skin condition.

What aftercare is advised?

Following your treatment, you can return to work or your normal activities. No specific aftercare is required. However, you should avoid washing the area that day or night. Also avoid heavy scrubbing of the face or the use of a cloth, flannel or muslin, for up to 3 days. This will allow the skin to fully heal.
Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 48 hours after a treatment for thread veins/spider veins. Wear at least SPF 30 on the treated area, every day outside, for a minimum of 5 days. Protect your skin!

What can I expect with a VeinAway treatment?

During treatment, a slight tingling sensation and possible mild discomfort can be felt. A local anaesthetic cream may be applied. After your treatment, the treated area may feel a little warm and look a little red. In most cases redness will calm down within a day or so, depending on skin type. The area treated may also become a little dry or even scab for a few days. This depends on the skin issue you would like resolved. It is not common for this to happen.
Thread veins do gradually fade away from the skin surface from the first minute to 3 days after. A small skin tag may take up to 14 days to fall off.

Does VeinAway hurt and is anaesthetic needed?

There is minimal discomfort and normally no anaesthetic is needed. However, on some more sensitive areas that are treated, for example around the eyes for thread veins or moles, or on the scalp for moles, anaesthetic is more often required.
