How long does it take to see the results?

That depends on the size of the mole, skin tag, wart, verruca or other skin issue. It also depends on the roots of the particular skin problem and your body’s ability to break down and release the remains naturally through the lymphatic system. It may take up to 3 treatments but a noticeable difference is usually seen after just one treatment. 

At what age can children be treated for Warts and Verrucas?

Children from age 6 can be treated for warts and verrucas but the parent or guardian does need to be present at the clinic to sign the consent forms and be present during treatment. You need to be over 10 years of age to have a mole removed.

Does CryoPen treatment hurt?

You will notice an extreme cold sensation due to the Cryotherapy. However, the coldness, like an ice cube, is only on the treated area and you will find that you get used to the sensation within a few seconds. It does not hurt but may feel just a little numb for a few seconds.

Can children or teenagers  be treated with CryoPen?

Children from the age of 6 years old can be treated for skin tags, warts and verrucas with CryoPen. Up to the age of 18 years old, the children will need to be in the presence of their parent or guardian. Moles can be treated on children over the age of 10 but a parent or guardian will need to be present and sign the necessary consent forms. The mole needs to be benign before treatment. This can be proven with a doctor’s note or confirmation from a dermatologist via the dermoscopic image taken at the clinic, (if the individual is over 18)

How many CryoPen sessions will I need?

You may need up to three. Commonly one treatment is enough but for larger areas and those with bigger roots ( moles, warts and veruccas ), you may need the extra treatments. The warts may return.

Can you remove warts around the genitals with CryoPen?

No. We do not perform treatment on this area.

What is CryoPen?

Will doctors and the NHS remove Warts, Verrucas, Moles and Skin Tags with Cryotherapy?

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that your GP, doctors or the NHS will remove moles, warts, verrucas or skin tags. Nowadays, the treatment for those imperfections are deemed as cosmetic and, as such, it is deemed not treatable through the NHS. We will treat them safely here at the Buckinghamshire skin clinic in Beaconsfield.

The price or cost to have a skin tag or wart removed with CryoPen is from £85. Mole removal with CryoPen may cost more however. The cost will vary depending on the skin lesion, the size and the number of lesions.

Do the Moles get checked to show they are safe to treat and do not have melonoma / skin cancer?

Yes. All moles can only be treated with site of a letter from the doctor showing the mole to be benign. Moles can also be treated if the dermascopic images taken at the clinic, and passed over to the dermatologist, are proven to show the mole to be benign. If moles of other skin lesions of concern are to have images scanned by our dermatologists, the patient would need to be 18 or over
