How are Skin Tags safely removed?
CryoPen Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a treatment method that involves the use of extreme cold (minus 89 degrees celcius) to destroy abnormal or diseased tissue.
During a Cryotherapy treatment for the removal of skin tags, your advanced skin specialist, such as Jacqui Bannister at Skin Revision would pinpoint the CryoPen (as an example) to the tag that need to be removed. The extreme cold fired from the CryoPen, causes the cells in the skin tag to die. The skin tag will normally fall off within 7 days. Cryotherapy is quick and a relatively painless procedure. Depending on the amount of tags needed to be treated and removed, the treatment process is usually a maximum of 10 minutes.
VeinAway
VeinAway was initially the very best device to use for the treatment and removal of thread veins. However, it is now very proven to remove the smaller skin tags. If the tags are reasonably small and slightly loose and floppy in nature, then VeinAway is generally the best method. VeinAway uses heat cauterisation to break up the cells that are keeping the tag alive. Depending on the size of the tag and the individual, the tag may take 5 – 10 days to fall off.
Is there any pain or discomfort during a Skin Tag treatment?
There is a minimal discomfort of the freezing on the tag using CryoPen and more a sharp scratchy sensation when a skin tag is being treated with VeinAway.
Aftercare
Providing that the aftercare instructions, following treatment, have been adhered to, the skin tags should leave no scars and new fresh skin will develop in the treated areas.
If you are not sure about whether you have skin tags or whether you would like to discuss options to remove them, then call an advanced skin therapist, such as Skin Revision, today.
Note of caution: It is important to have any suspicious growths evaluated by a healthcare provider, such as a GP or Skin Revision, to determine the best treatment.
